NEW YORK (AP) — The TV movie about Aaliyah’s life now has a new lead actress.

Lifetime says Alexandra Shipp has landed the title role, replacing Zendaya Coleman, who quit the production last month.

The movie starts filming later this month, which means Shipp will have little time to prepare.

“Aaliyah: Princess of R&B” is to be released this fall.
