Arctic Monkeys ‘most streamed’ act of ’13

Rockers Arctic Monkeys have been named the U.K.’s most streamed act of 2013.

Thanks to their fifth album “AM,” which was also nominated for Britain’s prestigious Mercury Prize, the rock quartet had a landmark 2013 and ended the year as the most listened to act online, according to a list compiled by trade association BPI and the U.K.’s Official Charts Company.

Coming in second are English rockers Bastille, whose album “Bad Blood” was also named the most downloaded album and biggest-selling debut of the year.

Rounding out the top five are French duo Daft Punk, “Blurred Lines” hitmaker Robin Thicke and boy band One Direction.
