Casey Kasem’s daughter: My dad was ‘kidnapped’

The daughter of TV and radio legend Casey Kasem is adamant her father has been “kidnapped” by his wife and is planning to file a missing persons report by Wednesday.

On Monday, a Los Angeles judge ordered an investigation into the whereabouts of 82-year-old Kasem, who suffers from advanced Parkinson’s disease and can no longer speak, after an attorney for Jean claims he has “no idea” where the entertainer is, except that he is no longer in America.

Kasem’s daughter Kerri, who has been seeking a temporary conservatorship, was appointed her father’s caretaker on Monday, and is taking the necessary steps to file a missing persons report for her dad, whom she believes might be at a Native American reservation in Washington state.

A statement from the family reads: “Adult Protective Services, the courts and family are currently looking for Mr. Kasem. As soon as the paper work for the conservatorship is done, Kerri Kasem will file a missing persons report, which should be done by tomorrow morning. Thereby allowing the FBI and local law enforcement to get involved.”

Kerri, who has claimed that Jean has refused her and her siblings access to their father, tells the New York Daily News that she’s extremely concerned for her father’s health.

She adds, “She’s (Jean) completely in hiding with my dad. My dad has been kidnapped… I worry immensely that he’s not getting the right medical attention. He has to be in a facility with 24-hour care. Traveling causes great stress, fear and confusion for someone in my dad’s state. It might be taking a tremendous toll.”
