Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus get ‘blown up’ in disco demolition

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The Charleston RiverDogs minor league baseball team had quite a promotion Saturday: bring something related to Miley Cyrus or Justin Bieber and watch it explode.

The team sponsored “Disco Demolition 2: You Better Belieb It” as a sequel to the original Disco Demolition Night at a White Sox game in July 1979.

Fans who brought music and memorabilia featuring Cyrus and Bieber to blow up got discounted tickets.

The man behind the promotion was RiverDogs president Mike Veeck, who helped organize the original Disco Demolition Night.

Unlike the original, though, the RiverDogs field was not destroyed in the process.
