GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) — The man convicted in a jet ski crash that killed Usher’s stepson has learned his fate.

Jeffrey Hubbard will spend four years in prison as a result of the crash that killed 11-year-old Kyle Glover in the summer of 2012. Hubbard was riding on a jet ski that hit Kyle and another child in an inner tube on Lake Lanier near Atlanta.

Glover died days after the crash.

Hubbard was convicted last month of homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft and a boat traffic violation.

His attorney insists the crash was an accident — and that his client wasn’t being reckless.
