What was originally intended to be an update to the Sangamon County Encyclopedia has now gone digital.

The county historical society has unveiled its new website. Site editor Mike Kienzler says in just a few months of existence, more than 500 articles about county history are available on-line.

“The original idea was to do a new book on Sangamon County. Before I got involved, it translated to an on-line history and over the last year and a half I’ve been the editor,” says Kienzler.

Kienzler encourages anyone to submit research and pictures to the site at www.sangamonlink.org.
