Two kids and an adult have been charged in connection with dozens of car burglaries on the north end.

A 14 and 17 year old are charged, as well as Stephen Sullivan, 19, of Springfield. It’s unclear exactly how many burglaries they’re responsible for.

“They’ve actually spoken about some we don’t have reports on,” said Springfield Deputy Police Chief Dan Mounce. “It’s difficult to say how many exactly, but we’re thinking somewhere in the area of 60.”

Police found them in the 1900 block of Sangamon Avenue after a recent burglary; an investigation connected them to a lot of incidents. Mounce said most of the burglaries occurred because doors weren’t locked.
